I first bought this set with the intention to use it for making cards for my small Confirmation group at Church. Since then, I have discovered it can be used for so many other wonderful greetings besides the Catholic sacraments, i.e. Get Well, Thinking of You, Loss of Job, Sympathy. Since this In Color cardstock and ink will soon be retiring, I wanted to share this with you. It, too, follows the rule of my last post, White plus one color. Stamps, ribbon, embossing powder and inks from Stampin' Up! The stamp set is called Special Blessings. I used white taffeta ribbon and embossing powder. My scoring blade on my trimmer enabled me to make a smooth fold to the left of the bird stamp. I drug the edge over a VersaMark pad and embossed in white to add color and texture. I used my rectangle punch to add ribbon prior to mounting it on white layer. I used Glue Arts High Tac adhesive and a strip of ribbon adhesive for the foldover flap. The wheel is Always in Bloom. Since there is no Baja Breeze ink cartridge, I simply ran the wheel over my Baja Breeze ink pad and rolled onto card edge. Tip: Make sure you ink well so it appears evenly, and as always, begin off edge of CS and continue off top edge. I am sure you know someone who could use God's blessing today!

Mostly Sunny, Partly Cloudy

This matching card and envelope is called Cloudy Fields. It shows how you can work with a single color scheme along with white to create a simple, yet beautiful notecard set. I used the Baja Breeze ribbon, cardstock and ink along with the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set, a stamping sponge and white gel pen to create this look. Even if you are a beginner stamper, you can create this set. I dipped the sponge in the Baja Breeze ink pad to create soft edging around the envelope flap and card layer. Day 9 - 80 Degrees, but posting about Snowflakes!

O.K., so this doesn’t seem very fitting. It is about 80 degrees in Florida today and I choose to post these snowflake cards. The only snowflakes I am viewing here are decorative ornaments hung from my window panes. Again, I used my favorite holiday set, Snow Swirled, and the gorgeous snowflakes from this set. I stuck with a winter color scheme of Whisper White, Baja Breeze and silver. I just love the wide grosgrain ribbon in Baja Breeze. I used it to create this faux stylized bow. To make the embossed snowflakes spotlighted, simply cut your strip of white cardstock, stamp the large flake in baja breeze ink, use a circle punch to create the windows, attach to the card front, then emboss the flakes inside the openings. Glue Arts’ ribbon adhesive works great for attaching the ribbon. I also used some micro adhesive squares from their product line to attach the loop around the ribbons.
